Deckers Outdoor Corporation (NYSE: DECK) Q1 2026 Earnings | 07/25/2025
About this video
Deckers Outdoor Corporation kicked off fiscal 2026 with an impressive first quarter, reporting net sales of $964.5 million—a jump of 16.9% year-over-year—as both the HOKA and UGG brands surpassed expectations. HOKA led the charge, registering a 19.8% increase in sales to $653.1 million, while UGG grew by 18.9% to $265.1 million. This robust growth came despite ongoing uncertainty in the global trade environment, with management emphasizing confidence in the company’s brands and a strong, long-term outlook. Other brands under the Deckers umbrella experienced a decline, with sales falling 19% to $46.3 million. Profitability improved as well: gross profit rose to $537.9 million, and operating income increased 24.5% to $165.3 million, reflecting the underlying strength of Deckers’ operating model. Gross margin for the quarter was 55.8%, slightly down from 56.9% last year, attributed to a higher mix of wholesale sales, increased promotional activity, and elevated freight costs. Diluted earnings per share climbed to $0.93, up from $0.75 in the prior year and well above consensus estimates, while net income totaled $139.2 million, up from $115.6 million. Performance across sales channels and regions was mixed. Wholesale net sales leapt 26.7% to $652.4 million, while direct-to-consumer (DTC) net sales edged up 0.5% to $312.2 million as comparable DTC sales dipped 2.2%. International markets fueled much of the growth, with sales rising 49.7% to $463.3 million, even as domestic sales slipped 2.8% to $501.3 million. The company maintained a healthy cash balance of $1.72 billion and continued its commitment to shareholders, repurchasing 1.7 million shares for $183 million during the quarter. Looking ahead, Deckers provided Q2 2026 guidance, expecting net sales between $1.38 billion and $1.42 billion and diluted EPS in the range of $1.50 to $1.55. Despite withholding a full-year outlook due to macro uncertainty, management reaffirmed confidence in its growth strategies, brand momentum, and ability to generate long-term value through continued innovation and international expansion.
